El Salvador offers visitors more than 300 miles of beautiful beaches, including two of the world’s best beaches for surfing, 
these are: the beach Sunzal and beach la paz, 
there are other places where you will also find great waves for surfing such as El Zonte, la perla, Punta mango, etc.

From west to east for more than 45 beaches where you can enjoy the warm waters, invigorating the white foam waves and the Pacific Ocean.

On the coast of El Salvador is a beautiful course located on the eastern border of the country in the department of the union which has waters shared with Honduras and Nicaragua, in here you willl find the island of Meanguera  which can be reached by boats that depart from port of the union, there are also three mangrove areas : estuary of santiago bar, the estuary  of Jaltepeque and bay of Jiquilisco, in these estuaries and in the bay you can practice, water skiing, swimming, sailing , kayaking,snorkeling, fishing, or other water activities.

All the beaches of El Salvador have excellent access via paved roads, very few will have to travel a very short space of dirt roads, the coastal road (coast) connects all the beaches, you can cruise the entire coast of El Salvador in 5 to 6 hours on this road, yo can see stunning views of the Pacific Ocean and on this route you will find many restaurants with fresh seafood like oysters, lobsters,shrimp, fish, squid, octopus, snails or other exotic sea foods , which can be served with a rich coconut, tangerine juice or your favorite beverage, all served with the courtesy of the friendly and warm people in El Salvador.

El Salvador provide a wide range of tourist services including hotels, beach clubs and restaurants, boats, kayaks operators, dive centers and surf instructors.

Just 30 minutes from San Salvador (32 km) and Comalapa International Airport is La Libertad, with plenty of attractions and places to rest and discover new emotions.
Step back in time watching holds of ships destroyed. Enjoy the seawall and a visit to the pier of La Libertad where besides appreciating the fishing it offers a minimarket with a wide variety of seafood. And of course enjoy a delicious sea food dish at any restaurant that offers the Port of La Libertad.

Continuing along the coastal road are beaches such as Punta Roca, El Conchalio, San Blas, El Majahual, El tunco, Sunzal, El Zonte, Mizata among others, which are world famous for surfing. Surfers come to stay in the hotels located on the edge of the beach, ranging from rustic cabins, to beautiful and renowned hotels

At just 37 kilometers from San Salvador, Playa El Tunco has become a favorite destination Route for Sun and Sea, especially those who enjoy nightlife and the best waves for surfing. The characteristic image, an impressive rock formation in front of a mouth, surrounded by surfers of all parts of the  world is becoming increasingly popular.
The beach is well known for its parties every weekend with live music from different genres: from rock concerts, reggae and salsa. As for its bars and restaurants, among The Guitar, with a bohemian and relaxed place, D’Rock, where the party is a guarantee, with music and drinks until Dawn, and The Bocana, the favorite place for surfers. Many visitors also choose to turn bonfires on the beach  and spend the night under the stars.
Apart from its beauty, the Tunco has also become an important destination for surfers from around the world. For $ 15 an hour, taught by local surfers take the first wave of newcomers, while professionals impress visitors with their skills surfing waves that reach 6 meters. The best season for surfing is between April and August, when the swell is right.
No need to carry or have table. At the site there are several options for rent, usually $ 20 dollars a day.

Where to eat
The Tunco is full of restaurants, cafes and bars and there is food for all budgets. Best places to eat are Bar Bas, Roca Sunzal, Kayu, La Bocana, Tekuani Kal, Mc Tunco, pizzeria Erika’sy Five Tunco Three. In the site there are many small family businesses that offer seafood and fried fish at low
prices.

Where to stay
From camping by the fire to luxury hotels, The Tunco has many housing options. Most famous are Roots, Papaya Surf Lodge, EcoSurf, Casa Miramar, Paradizo Blue, among others.

Directions
From Bolivar Park buses or minibuses depart for El Tunco. You can take Route 102, 107 or 177. The Cost is $ 1.50. The trip takes approximately 1 hour and buses leave every twenty minutes from 6 am to 7 pm.  By car, from San Salvador, take the road to Puerto de La Libertad, to reach the diversion
take The Coastal Road to El Malecon and follow to mile 42. There are many signs indicating the way to go.

Considered by the specialized media and international surfers among the world’s best beaches for surfing, great beach for snorkeling and diving to shallow depths, where it is rocky seabed you may observe the habitat of oysters, lobsters, coralsall especially clear in the summer months (November to April) on the beach that is adjacent ” ElTunco” there are a variety of restaurants offering seafood and accommodation to surfers and tourists in the area there is also an excellentrestaurant sea house international cuisine and magnificent facilities to meet the most demanding tastes there is also a workshop for surfboards in case youdamage yours , as well as rent and instructors for the sport, an inevitable destinyin relation to sunset beach and surfing.

By Car
From San Salvador head towards the port of triumph of La libertad through the CA-4 to the reach La libertad, turn right (west) and on the road ca-2 advance tothe 44 km there you will find a sign indicating the entrance to this wonderfulbeach

By bus
Go to the western Terminal and board the Route that leads to La libertad, and then transfer to Route 80-A to
In 25 minutes its going to transfer you to this beautiful beach.

One of the longest beaches in El Salvador with more than 10 km in length, ideal for sports that require extensive beach area and beach football, volleyball, jogging, or even fishing, swimming etc.
How to get there?

By Car
Drive across the coast road (ca-2) leading from San Salvador to the east and after passing the city of Usulutan at 10 km you will find the detour to beach el Espino, the turning is marked , you turn south (on the right) and travel 26 kms. aprox. and you will find the beach.

By bus
You must go to the south terminal and board the path that leads to Usulutan. When you get there, transfer to the path that leads right to the beach, these buses leave at 6:00 pm. and 09:00 hrs.

Located in the department of Ahuachapán
This is a beach town where you will find large supply of seafood also you will be in contact with the ocean and the estuary of ”Barra de Santiago”, the estuary issuitable for swimming, kayaking, sailing, water skiing , and you can go Offshore during high tide across the entrance of Zapote.

Access is by the highway CA2 that leads to the border Hachadura, from San Salvador arrived to Sonsonate in the direction to Acajutla continue at reachingthe detour of km 5 turn right (west) and continue to kilometer 98.5 you will find there a detour that indicates’ to the Barra de Santiago ”continue on this road which will lead you to the beach.

By bus
In the western terminal board the route that leads to Sonsonate, In the terminal of Sonsonate board  the route that leads from Sonsonate to Hachadura frontier in the 98.5 km get down and from there find pick-ups leading to beach.

Inevitable destination for lovers of surfing, this beach develop major surfing championships at Central and Latin Americas and in its environment is rich and varied of tourist services like restaurants, lodging, surfing and kayaking instructors because of its proximity to the pier of La libertad gives facility to purchase seafood at the moment in which they are landed by artisanal fishermen, if you are a fan of fishing offshore, you can rent a boat in the dock with a sailor who will take you over to the coast and that he will advise or accompany you to your fishing day to be a success.
An important point of these trips is observed in this voyage many marine species like dolphins (lots) gold, marlin, tuna, etc, and if you have luck in the months of mid-November to March you can see migrating whales that direct to North America and make the territorial waters of El Salvador Route to cooler waters

By car
Direct from San Salvador to La libertad through the ca-4 road travel to La libertad is at 36 kms. From San Salvador by this Route.

By bus
Board at the western Terminal the route that takes you directly to the port of La Libertad, and then walk 700 meters to the east approximately and will be in you will be in “La paz ” beach

Beautiful beach located on the largest rocky reef of the North Pacific, golden sand, ideal for scuba diving where you can see the coral formations, shipwrecks over 120 years, possible sightings of humpback whales during the months of October to February. In this beautiful beach that is A protected area you will find excellent international chain hotels, golf clubs and Eco-lodges with magnificent facilities and comfort as well in the Foundation to protect the reef you can arrange a boat ride to diving sites , snorkeling and fishing.

By car
Go to Sonsonate, after passing through Sonsonate, continue in the direction to Acajutla  passing the detour km 5, and approx 3 kms you will find the detour to the Cóbanos. You must turn left (eastward) the Cóbanos beach is 7 kms.

By bus
Refer servicing departing from San Salvador to Sonsonate to the wast terminal, then change there to the path that leads right to the beach The Cóbanos
In the Beach Los Cobanos there is accommodation in the homes of locals which you can rent roundabouts that are in front of the beach and that offer food services.

Metalio beach is a classic beach, the black sands and the water temperature will captivate you.
On this beach there are many small restaurants with fresh seafood, its proximity to the port of Acajutla gives much dynamism to tradeand supply of seafood, its location is perfect place to observe the beautiful colors of the sunset as the sun seen against the sea to hide at any time of year. Which makes it an excellent destination for photographers.
How to get there?

By Car
Traveling from San Salvador you must go to Sonsonate, then head in the direction to the port of Acajutla in the detour of 5 kilo turn toward the west (right hand) to address the ca-2 Road, and walk 9.9 miles there you will find a detour with signs telling you where to cross to get to the beach.

By bus
From San Salvador you must go to the western terminal and board the route that reaches Sonsonate, then transferring to the path that leads to border the Hachadura and get off at the detour that indicates you the cross to Metalío, from there to the beach is about 1 km that can be traveled by foot.

The longest beach of El Salvador from 12 to 15 kms approx. with many hotels, beach clubs and places to watch sunsets or sunrises, enjoying fresh seafood and the beverage of your choice, because of its size is ideal for jogging, playing football and volley ball.
Also at the end of the boulevard costa del sol you can access to Jaltepeque estuary where you can navigate through their channels with mangroves and observe birds such as herons, ducks, gulls, as these mangroves are a refuge of migratory and resident birds.
You can also go out to sea leaving the mouth of the cord or the mouth of the Lempa River which is adjacent to the beach the blacks which is a very quiet and beautiful virgin beach, the transport from the lace that is at the end of the boulevard costa del sol to the mouth of the Lempa river costs 30.00 ¢.

Costa del Sol has three beaches: San Marcelino, Los Blancos and Costa del Sol These beaches are in a large area, ranked as thebest beaches in the country and the undisputed place to watch spectacular sunsets.
Perfect for those looking for tranquility during the week as it on weekends and holidays are crowded and busy. The sand is no ttotally black as the volcanic, but rather gray.
In the first beach, San Marcelino is interesting to witness the departure of the fishermen at night falls or return within hours of the morning. Then there’s Costa del Sol, which finds its name from the spectacular sunsets. This beach is the most famous and most visited in the country, with tourist infrastructure, hotels, restaurants and different activities for the traveler.

By car
From San Salvador Refer servicing by the highway CA-2 that leads to the east, at kilometer 43 you will find the detour that leads to Costa del Sol, turn right and at 15 minutes to you will find the marked detour that takes you to Costa del Sol.

By bus
In the southern terminal board the Route which leads to Costa del Sol directly.

Beautiful black sand beaches and friendly waves where you will find excellent range of travel services like hotels, restaurants and excellent accessibilit.
In Playa las flores it function hotels and beach clubs from surfers that offers boat tours to ”spots”to surf like punta mango, playas la vaca, el toro, la ventana and fishing tours.

This is an area that brings together the above mentioned beaches and in a small area you can find different types of beaches
They are black sand beaches with rock formations where you’ll find small ponds that have formed in rocks and enjoy them as a natural swimming pool
The Maculís is a beautiful cove of soft waves ideal for families, seniors and children, walking in the long beaches, sunbathing, beach sports or just rest. Tamarindo is a beach with characteristics of estuary, little waves and low and constant depth, you will findEl Tamarindo offer boats that take you to know the eastern coast of El Salvador,or it can lead to the islands of the Gulf of Fonseca.

Refer servicing on the coast road (ca-2) that from San Salvador leads to the east,after passing Usulutan you will see a deviation that is called delirium, there turn right and continue, you will find a detour that says Cuco pass it, and then find another that says Intipucá and also pass it in the third detour says to tamarindo,there turn right and you will find, first tunas beach then Torola beaches, black beaches and then maculís and tamarind

By bus
You must go to the east terminal and board to the Route that leads to SanMiguel, after you arrived San Miguel and San Miguel terminal board the route that goes to Tamarindo, the trip from San Miguel to El Tamarindo lasts 1 hour and 1hour 15 minutes.

Excellent beach for surfing or body surfing, there are small businesses that offer food with fresh seafood, there are guarded parking areas, plus there is a club thatoffers all services such as food, shelter, has artificial pools for children and adults, slides, it also has two beautiful pools of salt water adjacent to the sea where the waves recycle their water, it has excellent vantage points.

If part of San Salvador head towards La Libertad through Highway CA-4 after arriving at La Libertad turn to the east on the highway ca-2 and in the 51.5 kmyou will find a signal that indicates the entrance to the club and beach.

By bus
Board at the west Terminal the route to La Libertad getting there tranships to the road leading to La Perla when you arrived to the 49.5 km get off,  there you will find the sign on the beach The Palmarcito.
